I have been a part time, Contracted, Satellite Technician with Direct Tv for a limited over a year now.

This post is for anyone who is reasoning about getting Direct Tv with no nonsense, level up facts on what you absolutely need to know.

First, the technical mumbo jumbo - There are 6 active Direct Tv satellites parked in outer space that are always in the same spot in reference to the ground. Every location in the United States pulls off of these satellites. The main satellite (named 101) has six exchange satellites in orbit directly underneath in case the main, active satellite fails. The two beside it are for Hd and additional programming. The other two are for Spanish and international channels. So with basic, accepted assistance you are only pulling off of satellite 101. The dish is small, has only one Lnb (head) and reception is ordinarily very easy to derive because you just need a limited hole in the sky to be able to get a signal. Then there is the Ka/Ku dish (Hd) which is a much bigger dish that has 3 Lnb's and pulls reception off of 3 dissimilar satellites. It amazes me how many people, after being told which direction needs to be clear, will have absolutely no line of sight for reception and yell, cry and complain when I tell them.. Please check your line of site. The operator will tell you exactly which direction to look from your zip code.

2. Installs are free to you With Exceptions. A basic install is putting up the dish, running cable (if needed) to the location that you want your receiver installed, and walking you through the guide when activated. That's it. If you do not have a line of site from any position On your house then you will have to get a pole mount done. A pole mount will cost you on the spot. Want an extra line to a room without a receiver? cash. anyone that is not acquainted with the basic install Will Cost You Cash Money, On The Spot!

3. If a Dvr receiver is a part of your install, whichever room it is placed in will have to have a 2nd cable line installed as well. This is so you can record on one line and Watch something dissimilar on the other line. You Will have a hole Drilled into your floor or wall of that room. Need the cables wall fished instead? 0 Charge. So please be prepared, we are not allowed to Move Tvs or entertainment centers but we will Drill holes into your nice new pergo floors.

4. Be nice to us. I meet so many great citizen with this and then my day is ruined by a faultless Jerk. I bend over backwards to make sure that you have the best ability service. Life is too short for such unhappiness so whether enjoy it or waste it.

That's technically it... Direct Tv is loved and hated by many. Personally, the ability is better but reception does tend to go out in stormy weather, and the price is unbeatable.

Eastbound and Down on Satellite Tv

Eastbound and Down a relatively new and in effect black comedy series from the satellite Tv channel Hbo, is something of an oddity. It stars Danny McBride as Kenny Powers, a former pro baseball pitcher. He was going to make the Big Leagues; he was poised to come to be a huge sports star, who would turn up on satellite Tv hawking tonics and sports drinks. Any way his dreams were smashed. His pitch wasn't up to par and his personality wasn't winning.

Eastbound and Down is the latest project from Will Ferrell (of Saturday Night Live, Talladega Nights, Blades of Glory fame) and Adam McKay's yield enterprise Gary Sanchez Productions, which also happens to be the comic genius behind the website FunnyorDie.com. Eastbound and Down also stars Katy Mixon, and John Hawkes among others.

After Kenny Powers quits the big leagues, or rather as they quit him, due to a compound of poor habits, poor attitude and just plain bad karma, he heads back to his home town of Shelby County in North Carolina where he took a job as a substitute gym teacher, because he needed the cash so that the Irs could decoration his wages. All the while, the one and only former fast pitcher plots his return to sports glory.

When he was just 19 he helped his team win the World Series; but that was a long time ago. As the
character himself admits, 'sometimes when you bring the thunder you get lost in the storm.' Kenny Powers is a man that's full of himself. He drinks, and his puffy, soft body goes to show for it.

Kenny meets an ex-flame, April, played by Katy Mixon, who is now engaged to the school principal, where he works as a substitute teacher. There's a bit of romantic comedy thrown in, but it's not the sort of Cary Grant romance you'd expect. Kenny is guy who likes money, wears a mullet and vomits at a school dance. Of course, no one in effect sympathizes with Mr. Powers, and even his one sycophant, Stevie, the high school band instructor who takes the blame for all of Kenny's antics because he used to idolize him, begins to come to be a tiny bitter and angry.

Of course, this leads to even more comedy the type you can only expect from Will Ferrell and company.
The show is very homey and grass roots. Still, there are the cameos-Ferrell himself plays a car dealer, and some other comic geniuses have guested on the show. And yet, it's a show that is contained. It's not the type of thing that will go on and on. The character Kenny Powers is a sort of jerk, but in the end we comprehend he's not so bad after all. He's just a former sports star with a mullet.

The show has recently been renewed for another season, which means you can enjoy all the comedic larking about and clowning colse to again. In the upcoming season, Kenny, who is in pretty bad shape may get a second chance.
